Charity – Orphanage Visit Part 2
Part 2
After all the games which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, we distributed goodie packs which contained stationery and snacks. Each child received a notebook, 5 Staedtler pencils in a pencil case complete with ruler and eraser, two ball-point pens, a mechanical pencil and an assortment of delicious tidbits.
Receiving the goodie packs.
What nice hair you have!
Ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out!
Don’t mind if I tuck in first.
The photo above is a snapshot of the children’s dikir barat performance. If we may say, it was a touching and heart-warming experience which was beautifully moving and inspiring.
The President, Manshan Singh, handing over one of the three water dispensers we donated.
The happy ending.
In short, it was an amazing trip, albeit without a teacher advisor, and the law society could not be more proud to have such capable first-years. Here’s to a future visit sometime soon!
Charity – Orphanage Visit Part 1
To repudiate claims that lawyers are evil, bloodsucking creatures, the Law Society of HELP University College was more than happy to organize a trip to Rumah Titian Kaseh, a shelter for abandoned children. As shocking as it may seem, it is apparent that first-year law students of HELP have shown exceptional skills with children, and are able to interact with them with great ease.
Packing goodie bags for the children. Forget factories, we are the very embodiment of efficiency.

“How do we keep 55 kids amused?”

Where it becomes very clear that we were not Geography champions in primary school.
Hard at work.
We received very warm welcomes indeed
Beginning to reach out.
This is where our broken BM comes in handy.
Up, up and away!
The matron of the home, Hjh. Syarifah – a truly noble woman with a heart of gold.
Give a man a fish, and he eats. Give a boy a ball, and he lives.
Ever wondered how it feels like to be headbutted by Superman?
Lawyers – we make excellent babysitters too!
Jokes aside, the tenderness is indisputable.
Hello!
Bulatan yang besar untuk permainan permainan yang exciting!
“Mari kita menyanyi dan…dance”.
Natural chemistry.
Look out for Part 2!

Really.
Kellie who so kindly donated wondermilk’s cuppacakes!
“And these cookies were so good, Gym Class Heroes were singin’ about them…”

Here’s a little update incase you guys are unsure what’s going on:
The Law Ball committee had its first meeting last Wednesday (11th Feb). While we’re still wrapping up the details, you should know that although the theme has yet to be confirmed, it will only affect the decorations and setting of the venue. The theme does not affect the dressing styles, so those of you itching to start shopping or having the taylor fly in from Vietnam/Paris can do so now. The date itself is confirmed, and Law Ball will be held on the 27th of March, a Friday.
Expect the full announcement sometime next week.
Last Wednesday was also the same day the January intake of 2009 had their orientation. To those who came, thanks for coming and we hoped you enjoyed yourselves
Pictures will be posted up once we get a hold of them.
AGAIN on Wednesday, if you noticed the random balloons being carried about, then that was the Valentine’s Day sale at work. We’d like to thank Sherri for organizing it, and everybody who volunteered to help out! While we’re not exactly allowed to discuss profits and whatnot, it’s safe to say that the sale was a success, and the proceeds will be kept for use in any future student events.

That’s it! We’ll keep you notified.
Law Ball hotel venue voting exercise
Hey all, as the Law Ball is upon us, we have decided that in order to make this truly a Law ball by the Law students for the Law students, we have decided to narrow down a few hotel choices for you guys to decide and take a vote on.
The hotels which we have short-listed are: JW Marriott, Renaissance and One World Hotel, and we have chosen these hotels based on general public confidence, reputation, location, and the proposals which they have provided us with.
Below, we have provided some photos of the respective hotels, as well as their location in order to help you make a more informed choice. Where applicable, extra details are also added for your information.
Student representatives will come around to each of your respective classes on Monday, the 12th of January 2009 to carry out the voting exercise. We hope that we will get an encouraging response as a bigger voting participation will give us a better representation of the general consensus.

However, be rest assured that we will try our utmost best to ensure that our Law Ball tickets will be reasonably-priced. Fund-raising activities will be carried out from now until early March to help with our finances.
Also, Law Ball committees will soon be formed, so to those interested in being a committee member, do keep your eyes peeled and ears open for future announcements on this matter!
